I am fed up with Norton, and would like to change my security sotware. I have read about Kaspersky and hear that it has good protection, Anit Virus, Firewall, phishing, spam protection etc.
Should I be looking at other products or is Kaspersky okay for the job. Thanks,
Frank22

I'm not sure about Kaspersky, Frank22. But if you're looking for a good quality anti virus, you can always download one for free from www.grisoft.com/
Don't worry. I have it on my computer and it works like a charm. :) Just remember to update weekly.

Vi.

I use Avast, auto updates.

Here is some extra food for thought, extract from link below.
It's time to toss out your antivirus software

Every third party firewall product such as ZoneAlarm and Kerio have exposed the very users they're suppose to protect to complete system level compromise.
Ironically the built in Windows XP SP2 firewall which always gets unfairly picked on has never had any remote exploits. Sure it doesn't provide any outbound packet filtering which is only relevant if my computer is already owned in which case any firewall could be disabled anyways, but at least it doesn't leave me wide open to a remote
attacker.
Is the XP SP2 firewall getting a raw deal?

I've just recently changed to Kaspersky suite from Norton & I'm impressed so far. Easy to set up & use, very configurable & has added bonuses like antispyware which Norton didn't have. Updates are far more often - Norton's once-weekly always struck me as wierd - Also starts up a lot quicker than Norton ever did so I'm guessing it's lighter on resources. Big bonus for me is that it has facility to create a rescue disk which I can use to scan other computers with up-to-date AV.

You can try Kaspersky for a short time before buying. It is a very good, if not the best av program!
If you are looking at free av programs...AntiVir is the best,Avast is good also. The bottom line is that any of these three programs will be an improvement over Norton's antivirus.

Yeah in Response number 1, that is a good pick. I have it to. And it is free.
its called AVG Free.
Im like curious george, but my names nick

Yeh, I have a friend or two who also have
AVG Free and they certainly have no
complaints about it. :)

Nick, out of curiosity, how did you come
across AVG? It's just, one of my teachers
recommended it but I don't think a lot of
people know about it. Did someone recommend
it to you?
