Suddenly I have sites with links marked with double green lines that say they could take me to all sorts of dubious sites. Even on the Tom's Guide site I am now there is one under from the Leading Worldwide Hi-tech Community. The link is under tech. Have already run Mawarebytes, as my Bitdefender did not find anything. Can anybody give me a hint how to get rid of it ?

Often times the in page double line links are a form of advertising to pay for the site. The site that you are using here has them as a way to keep open and pay for all the people who make possible.

fortunately on this site you can disable them if you click on my home at the top, then settings. There is a check box about in text links.

"that say they could take me to all sorts of dubious sites"

Sounds like you have some sort of security program onboard that is marking them up

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
