Ftp/ping problem via ISA 2004 ??

after new installation of ISA server 2004. i cant uplaod to ftp site in the web. and the worst of it is that i cant even ping outside the secured LAN like internet site. these two attempts results to error. regarding the ftp, i made sure i configured the ftp filter in the isa server. but still no way. can anyone give me the precise steps to get this working fine?
