Friend was tricked into ruining PC

Specs: Windows XP
Hi, a friend of mine pretty much ruined his PC by following some fake instructions on the internet. something about ''triforce''

any idea how he can fix this and put his computer back to normal?

apologies, as my link is only a screen grab image of the instructions. basically it seems he was instructed to name a new notepad and type in some delete window 32 type of thing and saved it as triforce.bat or something. sorry for not being clear as this stuff is above me

he's using windows xp. apparently he thinks his was highjacked by some fake virus scanner which he clicked. when he tries to go into safe mode, it gives him a bluescreen. he can't seem to log into the pc

Um that's a really strange "trick"
Who in their right mind would Delete a Windows system folder?
Didn't common sense kick in at some time?

Anyway, you may need to run a Repair on Windows, please select your OS version: (Note: no data will be removed, unless your friend also deleted that too !!)
