I've been wondering, do those little weather programs that display the current temperature by your system clock contain adware, or any other kind of invasive code? I've wanted to download one, but I've always refrained due to the possibility of a security risk, or even containing adware. Do my concerns warrant my hesitation to do so?

Does anyone know of any free weather programs that display the temp that are 100% secure, and safe from anything malicious?

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried out "Weather Pulse" and I like it. It's a little heavy on system resources though. I only have an Athlon 800 with 256MB RAM... yes, I know my PC is a tad old... and slow, but it's still hanging in there.

Thanks again.
