Reply: (edit)Hi clammer58 You can set AVG to update anytime you want to just click on the scheduler in the test centre, click on the update time, and change the time to suit yourself as the default time is 8am, If you go to nowyoudo.co.uk you will find free Antivirus, Firewalls, Spyware and lots more. If any advice helps, please post back as it might help others.

Reply: (edit)Avast! is the best I've used in a long time. If you right click on the avast icon and click on program settings, click on up-date basic and set them both to automatic. Then you will get up-dates while you surf. That's the good thing about Avast! Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Reply: (edit) AVG is completely automatic , just time schedule it for a time when you know you will have your computer on . If it goes past the time it is set before you power the computer on it automatically update by itself when you power up the pc. There is nothing you have to touch if you time schedule it .
