Without knowing what happened, its hard to provide a fix.

First thing I'd do is not use this hard disk anymore until you've ran data recovery on the disk. Don't be fooled into 'free' products, none will do real data recovery until you buy them.

Data recovery is not easy, nor cheap for the casual user so the question is if you can't do recovery to get a backup what do you want to do?

Attempt to fix the damage and limit the loss of data?

Rebuild the PC from scratch?

He lost all his documents by going to a website?

It's a redirect to a site registered in Thailand. That may or may not be your problem though. There is a javascript on the page but what site doesn't run js these days?

To check your harddrive, bring up a command prompt ("Start" then "Run", and type in "cmd" -- no parenthesis). At the command prompt, type in "chkdsk /r c:" - again, no parenthesis. You'll be prompted to run when the PC reboots. This will check for and repair bad sectors on the HDD (harddrive).

Try that and the results will be in the Event Viewer when Windows reboots.

It's called drive by downloading. Since the redirect went to a proxy and may have loaded something else who knows what happened at that moment. How do we know a java componant didn't load silently in the background and download something? Happens all the time.
From the look it was probably a email attachment that was the culprit.

But there is nothing in the post besides this, so it could be a slag at this site, or it could be a legit issue. The OP is going to need to explain some more.
