Okay....here is what I have done so far. I have backed up my stuff and then formatted my computer. I used my windows disk to do this. It seemed to be working fine, and then I plugged in my external hard drive. Within a few minutes, the virus was back. This thing is aggressive, it changed my desktop, shuts off my machine. Placed a "you need anti-virus software" on top of my windows internet explorer. It pops up randon popups every minute or two.
I had norton running, and it did almost nothing. I uninstalled it, and went to AVG the free version. It would see them, but I don't think it deleted them, because I would do a scan every two hours and they magically appeared again. I have now downloaded Malwarebytes, and am doing a full system scan on both my external and main hard drives. I'll post the results. Any ideas on this, and what should I do next? Thanks so much!!

Run smitfraudfix and smitrem. then finish using avg and SAS. Follow steps here: http://info-fanatic.blogspot.com/20...

Did you install all the Windows updates before connecting your external drive?
