First do fdisk and delete the partition/s and then make a new one. Then do format.

Don't know if this will work,
Put boot disk in, choose "without CD rom support", at A:> prompt type " fdisk /mbr "
(no quotes and dont forget the space)
restart the comp. and then try to load Windows...

if this is from the bios/cmos antivirus
warning, it may be a virus, or it can also be windows trying to write to the mbr.
to be on the safe side get the hard drive
manufacturers zero write program, known as low level format utility from their site, and run it.
it will write zeroes to the entire drive
then fdisk/format etc.

I came across the same problem. Flash the BIOS then try repartitioning and reformatting your HARD DRIVE.

Don't use the "Fdisk /mbr" command. The boot sector of the hard drive is where io.sys, msods.sys, command.com and some other files are stored for booting. If a virus in the boot sector may occour, I recommend using a Emergency Anti- Viruse boot disk (Pc-Cillin 2000 Boot Disks recommended.) If that doesn't work, you'll have to re-format you're hard drive, thus formating you're boot sector.
