Comment: i cant log on! i totally forgot my password and never programed a "hint" to help remember. I had a bunch of useless stuff on it anyway...can i format my computer? When i format it, will i need a pw to log on?

Reply: (edit)try logging on with the administrator account-assuming this is NOT the account ur currently using to login- (at the logon screen, hit ctrl-alt-del twice)or any other account with administrative priveledges and use control panel/user accounts to change password from there, it'll save u formatting the drive. dont forget, XP has a feature which allows u to create a password reset disk (control panel/user accounts/change an account/prevent a forgotten password) once u have an account up and running.
