This is a followup to my recent thread here

Giant Anti-Spyware acquired by M$ (Dec 16, 2004)

According to the following article, the anti-spyware to be offered my MS may not be free after all.

M$ Readies 'A1' Security Subscription Service

In addition, the first beta for M$ Anti-Spyware is due January 6th. To see the screenshots, go HERE. While there, you can also read a long thread of users comments.

Maybe MS wants to get a better reputation by offering us some free quality software? I don't know about you, but with MS giving out all kinds of free stuff (I love MovieMaker 2), I'm getting a better feeling about the company than I did 2 years ago. BTW, while I think this anti-spyware thing should be free, I highly doubt it will be - but then again, how will it compete with excellent free solutions such as Ad-aware and S&D?
