hijackthis, avg, mcafee, trend micro, spybot, none of them are finding anything on my machine.

But a couple times a day a folder and subfolder are getting created on my machine. The folder name is "BLOUYCEJ" and the subfolder within it is called "3FPBIXIN". There are no files and no symptoms result of these being created, but of course I would like this to stop. Any suggestions? Thanks

I ran that online scan and it found something (can't remember the name now though) and the folder-creating has stopped. Thanks a lot

oops it is back again. The folders were just now created, at the same time I downloaded (but had not yet opened) two pdf files. Not sure what to do next, as the online scan above is saying it is expired.

It just happened again and the folders are benig created when I open pdf documents.

I am now thinking that the online scan might not have fixed it in the first place, since I have not dowloaded any pdf's recently anyway

I'm going to uninstall acrobat and delete all its folders and re-install and see what happens

I installed acrobat (5.0), did a registry clean using TweakNow to delete all acrobat or adobe references, rebooted, renistalled acrobat, and the BLOUYCEJ folder is getting created anytime I open a pdf, even pdf's that I never downloaded on this PC. So then I created a small notepad file, renamed it 1.pdf and opened it with adobe and BLOUYCEJ got created again.

So it is happening on any pdf-opening and I don't think the pdf file in question
matters.

yet some more data:

clicking on ANY file (txt, pdf, anything) and then using right-click "open - with" and then selecting adobe acrobat to open the file, creates a BLOUYCEJ folder.

clicking on any pdf file creates the BLOUYCEJ folder.

opening acrobat first, and using "file - open" from within acrobat to open a file, does NOT create the BLOUYCEJ folder.
