Hello, I’ve found many words of criticism about Win XP firewall.
I have tested and compared with Zone Alarm and Liksys built-it hardware firewall. Using 2 different on-line test scans I’ve found out all firewalls do the same…good job. XP firewall works the same as others. Why people are complaining? Can someone explain and show me the week side of it?
In my oppinion, would you really trust Microsoft in protecting you from hackers? Bug's and Security hole's seem to be found every week!

The XP Firewall only stops incoming, the outgoing is completely open. It certainly is better than nothing, but that is the big complaint. If you have both Linksys and Zone Alarm, you would have about the best firewall protection available to a pc user. Just remember nothing is 100%, except disconnecting your computer from the internet. All the best!

The difference is hardware and software, no matter how good the software is, it will never protect you the way a hardware fiewall will. (ie. sonicwall, cisco, linksys, etc..)
