Can you tell me if I can put a physical firewall (PIX) before the machine that is running web server and stores important company database at one time, to make it more secure. ?

Hello Mark,
If you have a network server, the firewall should be installed on it, before all sattelites screen connected to it....
Remember you need a pro version of the firewall you choose, in order to control all the flux especially with emails...
I suggest Sygate Pro to download as a good product to install into your system....
