Hi,

I have been having an issue for a while now where I will get alerts from my firewall (Norton 2002) that either a "backdoor trojan or subseven trojan or paradise trojan or whatever" has attempted to access my pc but was blocked by my firewall. I get about 3-5 a week. Is this something to be really concerned about? Why is this happening to me specifically?

I have done a full virus scan with Norton AV 2002 and just for good measure, a full scan with Housecall online AV. Both came up with nothing. The firewall alerts seem to be incoming, meaning something trying to access my pc not the other way around. Anytime it happens i put the IP address that the alert came from and put it under "Restricted" in my firewall options, but what can i do above that?

I guess what i want to know is: Is this at all normal? What can I do that I haven't already? (I tried contacting my isp to no avail. no help)

Thanks so much,
Bri

I get these from time to time. If you want to test your firewall for vulnerabilities, use the free scans at the websites of Gibson Research and PC Flank to see if all your ports are closed/stealthed.

You're not infected...that's just the firewall doing it's job by telling you that there was an attack. Nothing to worry about.

If you want to, you can turn this alerting off, but still be protected. However, I suggest you call support for help in doing this.
