From the Register. . .
Firefox users need to update their browser software following the discovery of multiple vulnerabilities.
The flaws might be exploited to bypass security restrictions, conduct cross-site scripting or spoofing attacks, pinch sensitive information, or even gain control of vulnerable systems.
The flaws affect both the 1.5 and newer 2.0 releases of the popular open source browser. Users are advised to update to versions 2.0.0.2 or 1.5.0.10 to guard against attack. Users of the SeaMonkey also need to update to version 1.0.8 because of the same set of problems.

Glad someone posted this saw it at slashdot earlier
--one thing I would mentions is that opera seems not to be exploited neerly as much and in my opinion is faster than all browsers (gui based not text) except safarievery client I switched to opera has way less problems long term it seems

Thanks for the head up but once you install version 2.0.0.2 you will have to worry about another bug :-(
Speaking of WGA, Redmond added a third category Maybe to what used to be either your copy of Windows was genuine or it wasn't. I think they are losing grips.

I read about that iffy status in the new wga wich is funny since after an overlay install on a client I had to much around just to get the activation wizard to fire up --since it wouldnt let me login otherwise
and after that wga fired up saying it was illegitamate --oem install by compaq and I used its key --this is like the 15th false positive ive seen from folks from wgathank god other operating systems dont require this one os like this is bad enough
I really feel for redmond because of piracy but treating me like a thug has really worn thin my sympathy with this wga stuff
Its a shame they make some great products but it seems like they are slipping on their flagship anymore

XpUser, between the accumulating vulnerabilities with Firefox, and the ever-growing number of holes discovered in IE7, a really secure browser's getting hard to find. :)
I've tried Opera but, like the other two, it's had its own security issues. Plus, it doesn't always render a webpage correctly - even at a major site.
As for WGA (Windows Gets Asinine), I was just wondering, over in the XP forum the other day, whether what I downloaded February 20 was the same WGA you mentioned in your post.
IronMan

I guess it's the same but who knows. Are you on 24/7 like me? How do we determine the version? I also think M$ does not deploy the validation check on a global basis all at once.
i_XpUser

XpUser, yes, I'm on 24/7, unless I'm cleaning out the accumulated dust (argh, cat hair!) inside the tower, which is fairly often. I like to keep a clean machine. :)
As far as determining the WGA version, I can't say. Unless it corresponds to the KBase number, which it well might.
Incidentally, an old posting buddy of yours here at CN, Solarian, says to say howdy to you in NYC. He moved from Tampa to Fort Myers a while back. He wishes he never left!
