All the google based sites are not working in firefox 2.0.0.4. Evrytime I enter a site like gmail and orkut, the text becomes bold and caps. I cannot enter the password. I ran pagedefrag just before this problem started.

You need to update your version of Firefox 2.0.0.4

The latest version 2.0.0.12 has a lot of fixes done to it. One of which could solve your problem...
