1....when i start my pc, firefox takes forever to open...once opened it is fine and will open additional browsers in no time...

2...when i go to save browse sites to my favorites, i get several options....bookmarks...
a)...bookmarks menu.....can't find them or they won't open up..
b)...bookmarks tool bar....will not save although it says it did save
c)....bookmarks unsorted......can't open them up, or simply not saved.

What version of the browser are you using? If you are not using 3.5.3, I would upgrade to it. Another browser that is very similar to firefox, just with some minor changes is Flock, I would try installing that if firefox did not work.

The start up time for firefox is slower, but this is a 'good' thing!

You can't compare it w/ IE - IE loads it's rendering engine during boot - so the wait time for IE is when your computer is booting, unlike Firefox, which has to load the entire engine when you click it. IE doesn't need to load anything but the UI when you start it - hence it will always be faster to open.

So, yes Firefox is slower, but w/o loading the rendering engine, Firefox would just be another IE clone & vulnerable to the same BS that's plagued IE for years.

As for the bookmarks thing - it's probably on google somewhere.
