if you can read the e-mail headers, then it's probably there (unless the person sends it to a mail server first, where then the reported ip will be the mail server's ip)

You can see the IP address by displaying the full headers of the emails. To do this, go to hotmail and sign in.
click on Options at the top, then Additional options, then under "message headers" check "advanced".
Now your emails will display the full header and you can see the IP address.
Sometimes there are several IP's shown, so you have to check and read to find the one the email originated from.
