Hi, I have file that keeps being created on my deskop. I've reinstalled Windows ME from scractch for other reasons. The only things I installed on top is Office, PopFile (spam filter), and Zone Alarm.
Then file being created is called "~", just the character without the quotes.

Hi jperezanda; The symbol you see is called a tilde. This is a known issue on ME using Outlook Express address book and I think Outlook address book too.
It is added to the desktop sometimes when you add a contact in your address book.
It is harmless and can be safely deleted from the desktop. If it reappears after adding another contact just delete it again.
It used to happen to me sometimes too;
