I've been infected by a virus. I don't know which one. I think I removed it (it was a suspect wyn.com file and a diamond.ini file). But I still have a problem : the virus generated strange directories. Some of them were removed when I deleted the virus, but some other didn't. One is a problem for me. It's named "Qpp\og. 0". Impossible to remove it, I get the error "file error 1026". I searched on the net about it, but no help. There is still 3Gigs of free space on the HD.
Scandisk doesn't work (it says it needs more resources), my virus scan crashes every time it tries to analyze the folder, impossible to remove it from DOS or a linux system.Any idea would be GREATLY appreciated. If you need it, I can post more precision about the virus or anything else. (BTW : running win98 SE).

back in October of 2002, someone posed the same question as you.,. with no real response..
I will look around and asked some of my expert friends on what they think...

In the mean time... take a look at this for the error message..
Cannot Delete File: File System Error (1026).
This issue can be caused by one of two reasons:1. Insufficient hard disk space on the computer.
2. A file is copied or moved to a disk, then deleted, and then the Undo Copy or Undo Move is clicked to try to retrieve the file.nsufficient hard disk space on the computer.
Verify that the hard disk drive has at least 100 MB of free hard disk space. Additional information on how to determine available hard disk space can be found on document CH000369.
A file is copied or moved to a disk, then deleted, and then the Undo Copy or Undo Move is clicked to try to retrieve the file.
1. From the Windows desktop right click on the Recycle Bin and click properties.
2. In Recycle Bin Properties remove the check from "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted"
3. Click Apply and then ok.

Thanx for this ! But I already read the post of October, and also the document from Micro$oft database. Unhappily, they didn't help :-(
