I'm running Home Edition 2002 with SP3

So I have been fighting with this stupid antivirus 2010 virus and I got rid of it once and it came back and attacked my system32 making it so I couldn't open anything (install, uninstall, not even firefox would open). I was able to get rid of it a 2nd time and then it came back a 3rd time and I realized the other user profile kept it coming back. I removed it from both profiles and now I get an error message that says "The application or DLL globalroot\systemroot\system32\SKYNETgvcpkmlj.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your install diskette."

I get this error anytime I try to open a program. When I hit Ok it will proceed but its awful annoying.

Anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?

Ive used the removal tools for getting rid of it (which does all the things in that tutorial), as well as malwarebytes which nixed the stuff I missed... However I cannot find anything that makes reference to SKY anything. I no longer have the virus I just have a corrupt registry key or reference value somewhere which causes it to kick up this error.

use ccleaner slim (no toolbar) and clean up the junk and clean up the registry.
Also try unhackme:
http://www.greatis.com/unhackme/dow...
it is really user friendly and if you don't understand it, click on the beginners link on the left of the download page and follow the instructions

Hi, check this link >> http://www.pcindanger.com/antivirus...

Alternative, post a Hijack This log on the any virus/spyware
forum.
You should never run anything from a pop up. Anything your not
sure of you can always do a search with google to find out about
it, that's where I got the link above from.

CCleaner and unhackme didn't work... I'm trying GMER now

Syzygy your post was pretty much the most unhelpful thing your could have posted. Like I said before there is no more virus on the computer just some dead link to one that I got rid of. I'm trying to find where and what it linked to. Since every time I open a program it pops up I assume it has something to do with svchost or some other system program.

When I open anything I get a window like this

What ever I try to open is what it puts in the bar. Here's another example when I open task manager:

Ill let you know how GMER does

GMER found it and showed me where the registry files are so I just need to manually delete them (GMER keeps freezing up my PC)

Thanks everyone

if you would have used the deep search on unhackme, it would have helped delete all the leftover registry files.
