Specs: Windows XP Pro sp3, Pentium T4200 2.00 Ghz 3 GB Ram
My whole network seemed to have got this. It is some trojan. A program comes up called Antivirus System Pro. I am refering to my laptop right now it has got to be cleaned first. Ok I was unable to go to anywebpages. Only the page for that fake antivirus. Also my system was popping up porn sites and sites trying to get me to buy Viagra. Ha ha well anyway I tried to run maleware bytes. It would not run in normal mode. A message came up saying I needed to activate the fake Antivirus System Pro. So I reboot and go to safe mode and run antimaleware bytes. It finds a few trojans (I have the logs and I camn post them if asked) I clicked to remove. Then got to normal mode ran spybot. Spybot found 2 things. I removed them. I am not sure if I am still infected or not I cannot access the internet on that laptop I am connected to my router but cannot assess webpages I get page cannot be displayed. Is there another program I can run? AVG did not pick up anything at all. I need something I can download the files to update from the desktop. I DO NOT want to format my drive I have too much info on my laptop.

I just found this http://www.techvts.com/security/rem... \

Posted by someone here. I tried the soyware doctor and it found 3 threats. I tried to remove them and it wanted me to buy the program. So I guess spyware doctor is a hoax also.
Now my laptop is in a real mess :( .

try the free trial of trojan remover, it is fully functional:
http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/d...

If that doesn't clean it up you may want to try avast free and allow it to do a bootscan on reboot. It will detect rootkit viruses and allow you to remove them:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_a...

There are also some good free fully functional cleaners listed in my red signature on one page for easy access<

Tim, Spyware Doctor is a legitimate antispyware software, but full version is not free.

If u want free then try Malwarebytes Antimalware

Frank, why didn't you just send them to the removal site instead of to your site?

Thanks for the help. I thought I cleaned it but when it boots up I hear the Windows logon sound but the welcome screen is still up. Then about 20 secounds it loads the desktop but the taskbar doese not respond for 3 or 4 mins. I put the mouse over the taskbar and get an hour glass. The clock also stops like if it is 11:33 am when it starts responding the clock will jump to the correct time 11:37 am. This could be related to the infections I had I have seen the not responding issue before been along time when I ran XP on a 433 Mhz PC. This PC is 2.0 Ghz dual core with 3 GB so it should not have issues like that. I will check the msconfig and see if any strange things are starting up. Also I will check services. Is there a site where I can do a scan and it check whats running or maybe a program I can download?

We have ran Antimaleware bytes several times and just once it found some things and removed them. Lastnight I ran Super Antispyware and all it found is cookies. AVG did autoscan lastnight and nothing at all was found. Also ran spybot overnight and nothing found.
