factory reset on a netbook

Specs: Linux , windows xp
I am just hitting f7 to do a factor reset It's a coby 10" ultra-portable netbook pc its about 3 years old

Before you start:
Connect the computer to AC power.
recovery while operating the computer with battery
Interrupting the system recovery process may render the
computer inoperable.
When you are ready:
Restart the computer (or turn it on).
When the Coby logo screen appears, press and hold the F7 key to
start system recovery.

Do remember a factory reset/restore will erase all file inthe process, including your personal stuff. So if there's anything you wish to preserve, then first copy to some form of external storage.

I already did all that. I hit f7 it is on the last part of the recovery

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but F7 should be used to initiate recovery rather than later on. If necessary please explain exactly what happens and when.
