Extremely Slow Internet Out of Nowhere!

August 5, 2010 at 17:24:30
Specs: Windows XP Home SP2, 504MB
Starting last night out of nowhere, my internet is crawling at a snails pace speed. I'm talking slower than dial up and I am on DSL. I already called my ISP and they checked and said it was not anything with the lines. I already tried in Safe Mode and it was still extremely slow. I can not even download anything at all for the most part. It has never been like this.

Tried scanning for spyware and virus and nothing. It just started out of nowhere.

Any help would be nice.

True. They don't want the responsibility of it. I mean there is NOTHING on the cpu. Every scan comes clean and the cpu moves great.

So how would I go about seeing if it is really a network problem on their end if they will not tell me. I really do not know about troubleshooting those problems and even if I can if they will not tell me anything.

How many computers and other devices (e.g. Xbox 360) are there on your network?

Do you have a wireless router or access point? If so, what type of encryption does it use?
