Recent Update KB968389 appears to prepare the ground for
"Extended Protection for Authentication" but requres some
registry changes if you wish to invoke this feature on XP.

These two websites explain all :

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968389

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/se...

I would be interested to know whether you think that the
average home user should invoke this, or whether it would be
more trouble than it is worth?

Thanks

EDIT. Happy to receive any comments but I think I've managed to get the drift of this one. Best to install the update but don't bother to invoke it in the registry unless some future application requests it.

some other bloke...
