ok .. im new here .. but I have a big problem. Recently, my computer has caught a bad case of the CWS malware thing. I looked around online and was able to remove it with a combination of CWShredder, ad-aware, and spybot S&D. Up to before the CWS thing my system has been running fine. After the recent infection and removal, now the process "explorer.exe" starts off with about 25 megs of memory and gradually expands to sometimes 130 megabytes in a short time period. Also, my svchost.exe has started running at 20+ megabytes of memory. Never ever have I experienced this kind of craziness. Somebody please help me. T_T

Good job on handling it with the anti-spyware. Are you sure it is Explorer.exe, or is it Explore.exe, that's two different files.

What you might want to do is a general clean out....Dump TIF: click tools, internet options, click delete files, check the box for off-line content, click ok, click delete cookies, clcik ok. Shut down, go into safe mode, Dble click on My Computer, put %TEMP% in address bar and click enter. Delete all files there.

While you're there run your AV and SpyBot and Adaware and shredder and make sure you run it in FIX, not SCAN.

If you get a trojan notice, disable your system restore (might want ot do that anyway), and re-enable it after clean-up:

Then run these (if you got a trojan notice):

SWATIT:

Trojan Hunter trial version:

Let's see what is happeneing after a good clean up.
