I recently ran into a trojan of sorts and couldn't remove it. I reformated my PC and installed XP in again. The problem now, is that I ocassionally get two explorer.exe in my task manager. I had this problem before rebuilding my system. Also url.exe (Microsoft Money) tries to load itself. I was thinking it might have been dlder, but wasn't certain. Any ideas?

A quick update: I found that the 2nd explorer.exe comes up when I got into any folder. I also noticed that urlmap.exe also seems to start running at that point too.

I've got this too! When I open the folder, it will freeze for a minute and then start working. Occasionally I get a pop-up ad for some sort of virus blocker (it - I mean the trojan? - does a call to IE and opens a window). I've done heavy spyware scanning (using the big 3) as well as HiJackThis and cannot find what it is.

Hey... right after I posted I found a fix for my problem!

1)open Explorer
2)goto Tools
3)goto Folder Options
4)goto View
5)Is there a tick in Launch folder windows in a seperate process?
6)If yes, try changing that setting.

Come to find out, that had gotten changed. Maybe by a trojan that got cleaned and never set back?
