didnt look past kazza
most file shareing apps are based upon java

(not nocking java im an advocate of it)
on linux an other opperating systems it runs beautifully but on windows 50% an app will use rediculous amounts of cpu and memory

not to mention you also initiating open ports of communication and file shareing involves disk activity
so
from one program alone

1. high cpu and memory
2. high network trafic
3. high disk activity

have heard of cases where file shareing soft overload lowerend routers and firewalls with requests so they stop working and need reset
this should tell you how system intense they can be...
