.exe files wont run

Specs: Windows XP
I have read your other threads and tried the reg merge etc, seemed to work till I looked more. Stilleven old installs of stuff that worked. I get msg that . Other install programs fail in other ways. All current online free scans fail one way or another. Some the d/l's won't een kick in, others, all seems well and it flickers as if finally starting it's scan and then disappears from screen or starts but nothing happens. I have tried Trend Micro, and all the others fail similarly, even the mcafee site. Now the best part is even your scan on requesting this post failed the same way, the java applet d/l 'd ok and seemed to flicker as if it was going to the start up screen but did nothing, just sat there. So I ran it again without scan to write this. If of any help, seemed to start when I installed a radeon 9200 video card, installed ok all works fine, automatically even, then Quake 2 fails due to no GL support, I attempt to d/l new driver/pkg from ati when I ran it, it want MS Framework, I installed version 5 or 5.5 whichever is newest and then thengs went bad and badder. I can not d/l anything. I can run anything, nor install anythingg, not even online scan seems to start. Hijack this doesn't seem to show anything new or unusual. Running dell xp latest inet, also just recently installed. I also get an annoying msg about an update failing but I have windows update turned off. See any like this recently or know of a solution?, even a direction would help at this point.

thank you

hi,wellcome to computing!

here are steps to follow
please download first, then run xdelbox.exe in safe mode

Step1: Please download XDelBox from Here to your Desktop

XDelBox is an awesomely impressive freeware antimalware tool.

Step 2:Close any open browsers. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of XDelBox

Step 3:Run XDelBox.exe with a simple click "Start Scan"

Step 4:Waiting less than 5 minutes after scan finished.

Step 5:Click "Fix Checked" to remove spyware or malware threats.

PS:To start the computer in safe mode
You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut your computer down in step 2.

Click Start and then click Shut Down.

In the drop-down list of the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.

As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and then press ENTER.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.
