Etrust will not download

I am cleaning up my friends laptop, and we cannot get her e-trust antivirus to work properly, it says uit is running the realtime monitor and it is but when you click for signature updates, it will not update..goes to 87% of the download and stops. any ideas, i have e-mailed etrust with no reply yet, and the help file is not very helpful.. must be something simple please help...

I would check to make sure the latest version is installed 7.0.7.7. If it is not the latest version download and install it. If it is 7.0.7.7, I would uninstall Etrust and then reinstall it to see if that corrects the problem. Make sure there is a copy to install, either a downloaded file(if there is just a downloaded file, a backup copy should be made using a cd) or on a cd before you uninstall it. Computer Associates has made it difficult for you to get additional downloads, compared to their past policy, which was an extremely generous one for their customers.
