I believe it's this one, have a read:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.venzu.worm.html

It says there:

"It overwrites the text of C:\Windows\Win.ini with the following line:

Estas Infectado Por Blink!!"

Try restoring the registry to the day before you got this infection and then see where you are. To do that...

Start your computer and keep pressing the F8 key, and then using the arrow keys choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Windows 98 Startup menu then press enter. At the MS-DOS prompt, type cd\windows\command and then press ENTER. At the C: prompt type scanreg /restore and then press ENTER. There's a space between the g and /. Then select a registry copy DATED THE DAY BEFORE the problem appeared and then press ENTER. NOTE: A properly working registry has the word "Started" next to the date. When you receive notification that you restored a properly working registry, press ENTER to restart your computer.

Note: Only choose a registry copy that's recent like from a day or two before the problem appeared. Don't select a registry copy that's weeks or months old if one happens to appear on the list there.

If windows then loads run a virus scan here:

Let us know the results.

By the way, if the registry restore works and you can then get back into normal mode and your mouse works, before doing anything search your computer for winstart.bat. If you find it delete it.

I have the same problem- mouse frozen and Win 98 in Safe mode. I followed all of your instructions, however when I was able to view all of the registry copies, none of them were recent (from February) and thus per your instructions I selected none of them to restore. Now what do I do?????

I tried the solution above, but it apparently does not work for Windows 95. How can you change the registry date in Windows 95? Any suggestions?

Thanks
