helow fellas, i used to have norton 2004 free trail, and then i got 2005 free trail too, so the both trail finished alright. so i went and purchase norton 2004 professional, im trying to installed the software but it wouldnt install. during the setup, it goes half way then it tells me error installing software. why doesnt it install? do you think that those two trail would be the problem? is it possisble that norton could have put some kinda trace on my computer thats it blocking the installetion? please any info will be nice, thanks in advance

What's the exact error? Norton is good, but kaspersky is ALOT better.

hi,
before installing it make sure that previous versions and all its components are completely uninstalled from your computer. You must do a virus scan before installing it. this is symantec online virus scan webpage it is free:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?productid=symhome&langid=ie&venid=sym
click on go and do virus scan.
on the error message there should be a blue line asking you to click to go to symantec support page, click on it and it will take you right where you need to go.

This link gives instructions on the complete removal of NAV 2004. I have used these instructions with sucess in the past. The rnav.exe file was what worked for me.

thanks guys for your help,,fordman you told me that kaspersky is ALOT better, it was a disaster man, the worst program i have ever used, it sloweeeeeeeeeeed my computer so bad,it took 1 1/2 hour to get to the control panel so i have to unsitall that program. and brizboy thanks for link u give me man, i went there, all the instructions that they explained, i have done that before but with no use man. thanks anywayz man. i download mcafee now. it seem its working real good.
