Hi All,
I had encrypted a folder through windows (Folder>Properties>Advanced>Compress data).Recently my PC crashed and i had to re-install my computer. Now Im not able to access that folder.I can see the files but not view the contents of the file.
Whenever I click on and word doc it says "Access denied"
Have spoken to Microsoft they say "they do not have tool for the same but you can try some third party software." They even said they will not support on any data integrity issue.
This data is very crucial for me.
Please help

If you encrypted the data while logged in as a particular user, that encryption key is associated with the SID of that user. Since you reloaded, that SID is no longer available.

You could try a data recovery program.

For future reference, before you reload next time, see if you can boot to Safe Mode and remove the encryption on the files.
