Try to run an on-line scan from Trend Micro or Symantec. Some virus packets will not allow this, but I hope you do not have that type. Then get Avg from Grisoft, it's free!

What up dogg- here is the low down in specific- Go to http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/nav2002_pro_info_solve_virus.html and run an online virus scan (Norton is the best flat out!) It will tell you what virus you have and what files are infected.... here is the catch- it will not remove them. You will have to go out to comp USA or where ever and buy Norton AntiVirus 2002 (Install it, which may or may not work depending on what virus you have... but cannot make things worse.) Run an update and then scan you system The steps again 1) Online sca 2) Get software 3) Install 4) Run Update 5) Scan System

I agree 100% with the recommendation for on-line scan.Be patient as some sites do take a little time to set up for the scan.It is VITAL that you get an anti-virus program!!AVG,Norton,NOD32,Solo all are good programs.AVG is the only free one of the three.Symantec(Norton's maker)seems to have a lot of virus cleaner tools. When an on-line scan detects something, write the virus identification down and search a site like Symantec etc for the removal/cleaner tool and download it and follow the directions of that particular site. When you get that all cleared up,go to VirusBulletinAwards web site and check for av program test results. You can see the results of tests run on your operating system(ME,XP,98 etc..) using almost all the av programs.Hope this helps you.JB
