Me and some friends have been getting blank emails in our hotmail accounts saying they are comming from me. I understand that the yaha and klez viruses use email spoofing and it is not my computer that is infected. So is there anyway to find out through an IP address where these emails are actually comming from??? At least 100 people have me in their address book and the posiblity of sending out an email to each and everyone telling them to scan their computers seems like a long prossess.

In this forum, someone else asked the same question. The answer was no. If it can spoof the senders address it probably spoofs other details also.

if you examine the headers, you should be able to track it back to the computer they used. they can spoof the return address, but they usually can't spoof their ip to their mail daemon (if they use their own isp's mail server). it's rare for isp servers to accept mail from non-isp users (relaying is bad now). if it was done through hotmail, or yahoo, though, i'm not sure if that'll be helpful (but mass e-mailing would be more difficult). Also, they might have taken steps to anonymize themselves, like using a proxy server, etc
