Subject: email signature and spamOS: w98seCPU/Ram: 256mb |
Comment: Whenever my wife and I send email to my son (her stepson), we always sign it "dad and norma". Today I got a spam email from one of those crazy addresses such as k298tgp@ with the subject line of "dad and norma, claim your $500 k-mart gift card, etc." How is it possible for my email signature to be picked up? I run ad-aware regularly and nothing has been found other than a few cookies now and then. Thanks for any suggestions

Reply: (edit)Thought maybe I could use a new tv, then realized my son wouldn't be giving money, he'd be asking for it!! Still baffles me how emails, which are thought to be private, can be read in transit.
