editing the registry

I am unable to open the windows registry. When i type regedit in the command prompt i get a message saying registry disabled by the administrator

If it's a private PC the fix is easy. If it's a corporate PC, you can get arrested for tampering with company property and/or be fired. i_Xp/VistaUser
