Reply: (edit)I think its your firewall you need to change your firewall permissions to allow AVG email scanner permission to access the internet

Reply: (edit)An easy way to find out if you have a firewall installed is start>control panel>add remove programs and you can see if it's in there.
What I might suggest is maybe trying Avast! free anti-virus. I have been using it for 2 yrs and installed it after AVG 6 would not up-date for me. Try it if you like, you can find it at : http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html It has a great e-mail scanner and is really user friendly Happy Holidays to all
