Don't take my word for it. Read the advisory.

Since I'm not about to give $210+/- for a years subscription, why don't you tell us?

Haven't we heard about this for years? Now it's discovered Mozilla has similar problems!

OMG...More of this? Yes there are are serious warnings out there about IE (If anybody knows what US-CERT is, they have warned Americans to quit using it too). That being said, however:

While we're at it, lets dump everything else too because its not secure either... Oh wait, nothing is!

I will give you the best Computer Security advice there is:

Unplug it.

Otherwise, accept the reality of the risk and attempt to protect yourself from it. Accept also that nothing is 100%.

For simplicity sake, I will quote myself from an earlier thread:

"This is the simple truth:

Everything is "secure" until it draws enough attention that people begin trying to crack it.

I don't care what software/browser/OS you pick...They all have holes, they all have flaws, and their are ways to exploit every one of them.

I will continue using IE and I will not (yet) warn others away from it.

That being said, I am annoyed that a fix (for the latest threat) has yet to emerge. However, as a personal user, I could care less. However, as a professional tech, it could be a real problem for my customers if a "big hit" were to come while IE remains unpatched.

People complain a lot about Windows and IE vulnerabilities... Frankly, it gets old.

"Why is Windows/IE so full of holes? What's the problem?" they all say.

Well, here's the answer:

Windows is running at this very moment on about 95% of the world's PCs. It is the most attacked collection of code and programming on the planet.

What do you folks expect? Holes will begin popping up in EVERYTHING once it comes under that level of attack.

And there are more people attacking it then there are attempting to fix it. Its a war of attrition, and so far, the "good guys" have been winning.

Hope for all of us, that it stays that way.

But take a long hard look around...The scales have started to tip - just a little - but the "good guys" are really taking a beating these days...From the attackers, and now the "angry user" as well.

Give 'em a break. If you are worried (and its not wrong to be worried) use some alterbnate browser that satisfies you. No harm in that.

Or keep using IE until the wheels fall off (I intend to)...or until everyone visiting Google with IE starts getting redirected to an "adult" alien site on Mars charging 3000 zoltans a minute and filling your favorites full of links to Saturn.
