Comment:

I keep losing my dsl connection settings recently and the machine on boot up asks to connect through my old dial up connection saying something is trying to connect to net.
I have to go through a system restore to get round the problem.
I've done a full Norton virus check, Spybot & Trojan check. Now I did have a pop up box saying there were P2P updates available.

I could not get rid of this box at all unless I clicked "remind me late" or "install". One day I clicked on install & I think my current problems may be related to that. The restore has bought back that box. How do I get rid of the box and why do I keep losing my dsl connecton?

Thanks.

Let's find where it is loading from and kill it..Download 'Hijack This!'. Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.

HijackThis!

wow, that bought up loads-no wonder it takes so long to boot up! After lookimg through there seems to be a site that asks for dial up connection when tried. Maybe this is what is taking over. It is
http://www.217.145.76.16/nslite/nslite.cab

can't seem to access this on dsl, in fact I think the attempt to use it disrupted my connection!! WATCH OUT!

That's MoneyTree parasite. It's known for downloading 'premium rate dialers'.
