dropdown menus causing hangup on browsers

September 12, 2011 at 23:44:50
Specs: Windows 7
This problem exists on both Firefox, and Internet Explorer. When using the mouse to select from a dropdown menu, the selection will not be input, and the browser locks up until it's restarted.

I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, no change. I have just updated Internet Explorer, no change. I have installed and scanned using Malwarebytes AntiMalware and nothing found, no change. I have installed and run CCleaner to clean the registry, and temp files, no change. I have uninstalled Mcafee and installed/scanned with Microsoft Security Essentials, nothing found, no change.

I'm at a loss of what to do next, any help would save what hair is left on my head.

did you uninstall McAfee properly? You have to use MCPR.exe to remove all registry items or no other AV will work properly. Then I would install avast free instead as it is a much better protection.
