Hi all I believe I have a virus on my desktop and would greatly appreciate any help to get rid of it. Symptoms: 1) If I click on a link from a google search a random new window opens with the below in the address bar: http://find-carpophyl.com/go.php?8f... The address then changes to the random page it has opened up and the google search link I had pressed does not open at all and usually this link is an advertisement. 2) The computer has become extremely slow. This virus may have come through facebook after opening a link to a video from a friend and was prompted to install some software. In addition when I log onto facebook it kicks me out and facebook alerted to spam activity and my account was disabled. Not sure what to do about that. I have run my Yahoo spyware and the anti-virus from my computer and deleted all items it found to be infected but the problem continues. I ran the hijackthis program and waiting to hear back if you need to see the log. Not sure what to do next . . . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! What kind of antivirus program that you are using. Download ad-aware se and run it to see what it comes up with. www.lavasoft.com Jim R

My antivirus software is Symantec Antivirus and the Anti-Spy software is CA Yahoo Anti-Spy. I think the Anti-Spy is on on the Yahoo page??? Not sure what to do next. I actually went to download the adware se and getting a lot of advertisements and asking me to sign up for 14-day trials . . .I am a bit apprehensive b/c this may be a virus too???? Is this a better software package than Symantec? So do I go ahead and do the ad-adware se download? You don't want me to do hijackthis? jannagriffis
