Comment: - Can an infected ZIP file downloaded from Internet affect your computer even if you don't unzip it? - Does a virus in an executable file get active if you don't execute the file? - Can image files, music/sound files, etc. be infected? Thank you.

Reply: (edit)You get a lot of smart virus thesedays. Klez is one of them. It can enter your system when you open a email tho' you never touched the attachment. Take precaution with any files downloaded or email with attachments.

Reply: (edit)One strain of Klez is actually generated without an attachment. It's not a virus-infected e-mail, but it's genererated on the infected sender's end.
