When I boot up my system, it goes all the way in to windows, as it is reading my startup programs, I get a dos type window that reads something to the extent of c:/documents/settings/Matherlee.shutdown I dont know what else after that cause it dissapears, and windows starts to shutdown. Any ideas on this? I have tried to reformat back to factory settings on this dell laptop, and yet it nevers gets rid of this problem. Need help please it is annoying. I might add I can bypass this by clicking the top right hand "X" and shutting the dos type window down. (If I am fast enough).

You may be able to get more info from the Event viewer.
HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;308427
Or,
Start > Run, copy & paste > eventvwr.msc /s & press Enter.
Scroll down to the last time your computer crashed and it should tell you what device/driver caused the problem?

Reboot the computer in Safe Mode.

Run msconfig and look at the startup tab to see if the program is listed there. If it is, uncheck it. When rebooting again normally, you might get a notice about the change(s) you made. You want to tell it to not notify you again.

WILL POST FOR FOOD.
