Hi,
what i would like to know is what anti-virus software can i put onto some floppies to scan all my hdds for viruses? I have formaatted them all ready to move ythem to my new custom built computer and want to start very fresh as i have had many problems with viruses, and just generally problems (reason for new compter)

Hello JR,
I don't think you can use a anti-virus program on formated Hard-drive, because of the fact any anti-virus program is checking for a procedure as for exemple to check first your memory RAM to see if there is any active unknown run, then the boots sectors of any Hard-drive you have to check if the FATS are correct or corrupted.
You need first to reinstall all your windows system, then to reinstall a anti-virus program of your choice....
Better to think as well to download a Anti-Trojan's program too as for exemple Trojan Remover 4.90 ( http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/details.html
you will be then safe.....to restart with a clean computer.

to scan your computer in dos, try fprot for dos. its the best dos anti-virus scanner out there. small footprint.
