Does stinger.exe delete files in the computer during virus deletion?
What i mean is that when stinger scans for virus, it has the ability to delete like you say. Does it also delete some fiels in the computer?

Like every other anti-virus software, when a virus enters a system, the files will be affected and you all know that system virus gets deep into files in the computer and cannote be removed unless you delete the file. Does it do that?

In your subject line, you asked if Stinger deletes .imp files (the file extension associated with Lotus spreadsheets). The short answer is no. Actually, the type of file doesn't matter, since as McAfee itself describes Stinger, it's a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses.

However, a good antivirus program is more versatile and effective. It can either disable a virus, remove it, or place it in quarantine. For example, some viruses can only be disabled. If they're too enmeshed within the infected file's code, completely removing the virus would damage the file itself.

I'd use Stinger as a last resort, and first choose a reliable antivirus program to expunge the malware. :)
