Does not work.. Still need help!

CPU/Ram: AMD athlon 64 3400+

My computer is still very slow at start up. And now something called system 32 pops up during startup when it did not before. My computer is still slow and when I turn off my computer some programs does not close properly, so this window pops up and I have to click END NOW to close it.

I have tried the msconfig to speed up my start up. Also, i have used CCleaner and PerfectDisk to speed up my computer as well. But it did not work. Does anyone have any more suggestions? Also, I am not a computer wiz.

okies.. i picked the repair option and it's now installed. What do I do next?

o yea.. sometimes my computer keeps blinking when I didn't tell it to do anything. Even when I'm not touching the computer, it still continues to be doing someting.

I have also used avast and spybot to check if i have any infections but they said that it was clean.

If it's installed and running, reboot your computer a few times and see if there is a difference.

It doesn't make a difference. It's still slow at startup, system 32 window still appears and when I close my computer the End Program window still appears.

Start with the following.

Download, install and update A-squared

Download Ewido then set it up This Way You will need this later in safe mode
Make sure to update this program.

Download, install and update this excellent freebie Superantispyware

Download ATF-Cleaner to your desktop from this
Link You will need it later in safe mode.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following.

After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;

Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;

Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".

Choose whichever account that you normally use.

Please make sure ALL security programs including 'Spybot' are disabled until they are needed.

Begin running your scans in this order.Let them delete what they find.

Ewido
A-squared
Superantispyware

Run ATF-Cleaner from safe mode.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Reboot into normal windows, run 'CCleaner' and then run this free online scan from Panda This scan also does removal.Once finished, save the 'Panda' log and post it here.

For some reason i can't use the 'panda' scan. it would not start. I know needed ActiveX, so I installed that, but I don't know if it was installed successfully. When I closed the window and opened it again, the bar that used to be at the top of the window telling you to install ActiveX is gone.

sry.. also.. my computer is freezing more often now. Actually it freezes alot!! It sometimes freezes at startup and sometimes out of no where now. Also, the light keeps on blinking as well and I am not doing anything on the computer.

Download HijackThis to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.Please in stall it there.
Continue to click "next" in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
Put a check by "Create a desktop icon" then click "Next" again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click "Finish" and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log and post it in this thread.

Sometimes that fix doesn't work, but usually the easiest one to try. Often this problem is caused by a damaged or incorrect run command in the registry but may not be the case here.

Please go to msconfig and choose normal startup>apply>ok then post a new hijack this log.

You have two antivirus programs running which can cause conflicts. Since Avast appears to be partially running uninstall it for now then reboot the computer. Let me know if there is any change.

it's kind of faster, but it ran even faster before. But the start up is still very slow, also, my computer freezes more frequently now. Before it doesn not freeze that much.

If possible, i would try an XP 'Repair Install'.Just look through the XP section if your not sure how to do it.

You will need to reinsatll your microsoft updates after the repair install. The other data should not be lost.

If you have something you want to be 100% sure you will not lose copy it to a disk.
