Can a virus or spam be a cause for my outgoing emails to duplicate itself and create an attachment of the same to the email?
It is annoying and I can't get rid of it. Using MS Outlook express. Avast virus protection and Spy Sweeper spam protection.
This started just a few months ago. Using the same computer for five years.
Thanks for any suggestion to correct this problem.

Where is the duplicate email being saved? If it started a few months ago, it's sort of difficult to pinpoint what preceeded it. Have you checked your Rules?

Thank you for answering my question.

When I send an email (to myself too) the identical copy is attached as a file, showing a paper clip at the top right-hand corner. When I cick on it, it appears as a regular attachmnet would, but only includes my original message of the email.
I can not find any rule, which would create the same - hence can not eliminate it bay any rule I can find.
Previously I had no such a problem. I could attach any file to my emails the regular way, but the email was not duplicated.
Bt the way, I checked the computer for viruses and spams and found nothing, but I understand some could slip by the antyvirus programs.
Thanks again.
Tom
