Anti virus software can't keep up with virus writers. Day after day, I see Hijack This logs with malware & AV programs running side by side.
I lock the registry with MJ Registry Watcher. I don't click on attachments unless I requested them. I don't go to social networking sites. Most importantly, backup your system.
If you still feel you need an AV program, download a free one. None of them are worth any money.
